Designed in Sussex by French Bedroom’s design team, the Gustavian Dark Bed sits at the heart of the Gustavian collection. A collection that pays tribute to the kinship and visual dialogue between French and Swedish furniture designs. The collection offers new classics for the discerning eye, the warm rich tones of the pieces bring a grounded aesthetic, with a focus on quiet luxury.

Adapted from our best-selling Gustavian Beds, the existing silhouette has been recoloured with the addition of a dark stain and deeper-coloured upholstery for a sense of elevated styling.

With neoclassicist characteristics such as clarity of form and strong horizontal and vertical lines that render the pieces timeless, the bed is inspired by the clean-lined and architectural Gustavian form.

Crafted from solid ash wood and finished with a rich and deep stain, ensuring a warming yet smart aesthetic. The headboard is upholstered in a mushroom toned intelligent linen with life-proof stain resistant qualities, completed by piped edging.

The siderails and footend feature horizontal hand-carved fluting with stepped inset corners that emulate the same stepped design on the shoulders of the headboard, with its distinguished acorn corner finials.

This timeless upholstered bed is expertly constructed for pairing with complementary natural tones, such as greens, browns and blacks. Style with the other pieces in the Gustavian collection to provide the perfect backdrop for displaying your exceptional accessories and bed linens.
