For many years, the interiors world has taken inspiration from the creations of fashion houses. Amongst the most prestigious stands French fashion designer Christian Dior, founder of one of the world’s top fashion houses, and mentor to Yves Saint Laurent.

Taking its name from the seaside town in northern France, and the hometown of Christian Dior, the Granville collection is designed by French Bedroom founder Georgia Metcalfe. The collection takes inspiration from a vintage Dior dress designed over 70 years ago, reimagined into a bedroom collection consisting of a bed, bench and matching accessories. The fusion of timeless couture and luxury fabrics, finished with playful black bullion trimming, embodies the feeling of a well-tailored Christian Dior dress, adding the same gravitas to a bedroom that shoulder pads do for the silhouette.

At the helm of the collection sits a bed with a striking combination of bold linear embroidery in a monochrome palette - in the same way that Dior is renowned for using only the highest quality and most luxurious materials, The Granville Bed is upholstered in a wide black, sand and white embroidered stripe in 100% pure densely-woven cotton. The siderails and foot-end are trimmed in a 20cm rich black bullion fringe, creating a luxurious and elevated aesthetic.

We love the showstopping design elements; the sumptuously deep headboard, dramatic bullion trim with its nod to 1920s decadence, the wide stripe with raised black embroidery, and to complete the collection, a matching bench and cushion.

The Granville Stripe Bed is hand made in the UK by a family-run company who have specialised in making luxury beds since the 1920s. The wide, flat slats are made from solid redwood from sustainable and managed forests. Once positioned on the side rails, the slats will be held in place by the weight of your mattress, alternatively they can be screwed into position using the pre-drilled pilot holes.

This stripe French bed can either be put together for you upon delivery (choose White Glove Delivery at checkout), alternatively you can assemble your new upholstered bed, which is straightforward and takes approximately 20 minutes.
