For many years, the interiors world has taken inspiration from the creations of fashion houses. Amongst the most prestigious stands French fashion designer Christian Dior, founder of one of the world’s top fashion houses, and mentor to Yves Saint Laurent.

Taking its name from the seaside town in northern France, and the hometown of Christian Dior, the Granville collection is designed by French Bedroom founder Georgia Metcalfe. The collection takes inspiration from a vintage Dior dress designed over 70 years ago, reimagined into a bedroom collection consisting of a bed, bench and matching accessories. The fusion of timeless couture and luxury fabrics, finished with playful black bullion trimming, embodies the feeling of a well-tailored Christian Dior dress, adding the same gravitas to a bedroom that shoulder pads do for the silhouette.

The striking colour combination of wide black embroidery with sand and white in 100% pure densely-woven cotton, and side rails and foot-end trimmed in a 20cm rich black bullion fringe, creates a luxurious and elevated aesthetic.

We love the showstopping design elements; the sumptuously deep bench top, dramatic bullion trim with its nod to 1920s decadence, tall and slim black wooden legs, the wide stripe with raised black embroidery, and to complete the collection, a matching bed and cushion.

The Granville Stripe Bench is hand made in the UK by a family-run company who have specialised in making luxury furniture since the 1920s.
