4. How we use your information

4.1 We process your information under the following:

(a) Performance of a contract: where you enter into a contract with us and we need to process your information as part of this contract

(b) Legitimate interests: some information is processed by us as part of our legitimate interests which include fraud, risk assessment, due diligence, network and information security, suppressions and managing opting out of communications, profiling, direct marketing, monitoring, web analytics, cloud storage, acquisitions, updating customer details, financial payments and other core products and services provided by the data controller

(c) Consent: where we process information under consent we will seek you clear and unambiguous consent prior to processing your data

5. Information we share with third parties

(b) Credit providers and intermediaries.  If your purchase involves an application for finance, we will only share information with them about your order, and contact details such as name, phone, e-mail and address.  We will receive confirmation from them about whether your application for finance has been approved, the amount of credit applied for, and the term of the finance agreement.  We will not have access to other information that you give them in support of your application for credit.

(c) Law enforcement, regulators and other parties for legal reasons: third parties who we are under a legal obligation to disclose your personal information to or who we need to disclose your personal information to protect our rights, property or safety or the rights, property or safety of others, detect and investigate illegal activities and breaches of any agreement we have with you.

(d) Purchasers of our business: personal information may be disclosed or transferred to buyers or prospective buyers of our business or any of our assets as part of the sale.

(e) In order to offer you Klarna’s payment methods, we might in the checkout pass your personal data in the form of contact and order details to Klarna, in order for Klarna to assess whether you qualify for their payment methods and to tailor those payment methods for you. Your personal data transferred is processed in line with Klarna’s own privacy notice.

(f) If you choose to use the Pay By Bank payment method, we will pass personal data in the form of contact and order details to our payment partners at RvvUp. Your personal data transferred is processed in line with RvvUp's own privacy notice.

5.2 We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to anyone else except as set out above. We may provide third parties with aggregate statistical information and analytics about users of the site but we will make sure no one can be identified from this information before we disclose it.

6. Marketing and advertising

6.1 Email Marketing - From time to time we may contact you by email with information about our products and services. If you do not want us to send you email marketing, please let us know by sending an email to us at [email protected]. You can also unsubscribe from our marketing emails by clicking on the unsubscribe link (where available) in the emails we send to you.

6.2 Email Notifications About Your Order or Changes to the Services We Provide - We may send you email notifications in relation to your order or changes to the way we provide our services to you.

6.3 Advertising on the Site and other Websites – We, or our advertising partners, may show advertisements to you on our site or on other websites. To do this we, or our advertising partners, may collect information about how you use the site or the types of other web pages, content and ads you, or others who are using the device you connect to the site, interact with, visit or view. The information collected might also include the IP address of the device you connect to the site or the e-mail address you provide to us or our website. We, or our advertising partners, use the information that is collected to make sure adverts you see either on the site or other websites or apps (where our partners have advertising space) are more relevant to you.

7. Security information

7.1 We take every precaution to protect our users' information. We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information you provide or we collect against accidental, unlawful or unauthorised destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use.

Our entire website is encrypted and protected with SSL, which is an industry-standard encryption protocol. When you send sensitive information (such as your credit card number) to us via our site, your card data is securely handled by SagePay, Europe's leading payment service provider.  We do not store your card details at all, and we have no access to them.  If you give us your card details by phone, we enter them to SagePay's payment system directly, and we do not retain them.

7.3 International Transfers of your Personal Information: We need to transfer your information globally to be able to provide services to you. We want to make sure your information is stored and transferred in a way which is secure. We will therefore only transfer data outside of the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area ("EEA") where it is compliant with data protection legislation and the means of transfer provides adequate safeguards in relation to your data. 

All information you provide to us is stored on servers owned and operated by Sonassi, and we work with Microsoft (email), Dropbox (file management) and Klaviyo (mailing list management) to help manage our customer database. These companies may store and/or process your personal data outside of the UK and EEA.  We have ensured that there are suitable safeguards in place for the protection of your personal data outside of the UK and EEA.

The right to be informed - this privacy notice explains to you how your personal data is processed by us for direct marketing.

The right to restrict processing - you have the right to restrict processing in certain situations such as: where you contest the accuracy of your personal data, we will restrict the processing until you have verified the accuracy of your personal data / where you have objected to processing and we are considering whether our legitimate grounds override your legitimate grounds / when processing is unlawful, and you oppose erasure and request restriction instead / where we no longer need the personal data but you require the data to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
