When ordering multiple items, we will typically make one delivery when all items are in stock (there may be occasions when we deliver goods separately from different warehouses).

We offer free delivery on all orders over £1,500 to most locations in mainland Britain. For the isles and some of the Scottish peninsulas, we will need to provide a quote for delivery. If you are unsure, just add your chosen items to the basket, enter your postcode, and you will be either given a delivery charge or asked to call us for a quote.

For orders under our free delivery threshold: Small items are delivered by overnight courier from £5.95, and large items are delivered by our two-man team from £39.95.

For international deliveries, our prices do not include VAT or any other local taxes. Delivery charges will vary - the exact amount will be indicated when you add items to your shopping basket. If a rate is not automatically given, please do get in touch: [email protected].

Once in stock, small items are sent by overnight courier to most addresses in mainland Britain. The Highlands, isles and addresses over the Irish Sea take two days. Delivery is made to your door and will need signing for. If you would like delivery on a particular day, please let us know. We can offer delivery of overnight items on a Saturday or Sunday for an extra £9.95 to all addresses in mainland Britain except the Scottish Highlands.

Large items are usually delivered Monday-Friday by our two-man delivery team to your room of choice (except armoires, which are delivered to ground floor only). They will be fully unpacked for your inspection, and the packaging left with you. In stock items are delivered within 3-5 working days to mainland Britain (up to 7 days for Northern Scotland). Deliveries beyond mainland Britain may take longer and are usually not with a two man team, so they will not always be brought upstairs.

We also offer Saturday furniture delivery to mainland England* and Southeast Wales** for a £30 surcharge. To receive delivery on the same week’s Saturday, orders must be placed by 11:00am Thursday. Orders placed after this cut-off will be delivered the following Saturday, unless a specific Saturday date is requested in the delivery comments. Deliveries take place between 07:00–21:00, with a 3-hour time slot provided the evening before. To check Saturday delivery availability, enter your postcode at the checkout.

Please measure, measure, and then measure again! If our couriers have to bring an item back to us because it doesn't fit in your home, we will sadly have to charge the return fee that is listed on the page for that product.

Most of our beautiful products are made and carved by hand with love, skill and care in places like Indonesia. Because they are made so far away, delays can sometimes occur, but we do all we can to avoid this. We will let you know as soon as possible if a delay does occur as a result of shipping, customs, or hold-ups from our manufacturers, and our Customer Experience team will keep you updated on delivery time.

Our specialist couriers invest time and resources planning delivery routes, allocating space on our delivery vehicles and in some cases making the journey the day before for harder to reach destinations. Missed deliveries unfortunately do come at a cost, which is why we ask for at least 24 hours notice should you no longer be able to receive goods on the day scheduled.

Why we charge for failed deliveries?

To offer a leading service to our customers, we subsidise delivery fees. On average, orders under £1,500 are subsidised by 60% and orders over £1,500 deliveries are free, which is a 100% subsidy from French Bedroom. If deliveries are cancelled at the last minute this leading service quickly becomes harmful to our operations and delivery overheads. Therefore, if you cannot make your delivery slot, please call us immediately on 01444415430 to have your delivery rescheduled to the next available route in your area.

Deliveries cancelled less than 24 hours before the allocated delivery slot, or missed on the day will incur a redelivery charge of £39.95. This amount will need to be collected prior to your delivery being rescheduled.

White Glove Service

If you would like your new furniture assembled (e.g. beds), our White Glove Service is £60. This should be booked before delivery and does not include the assembly and fitting of electrical items or attaching items to your walls. Just make sure any existing furniture you have is disassembled and/or out of the way before your delivery arrives.

If you need to get a large armoire upstairs, then some of our French armoires can be dismantled and then reassembled upstairs. The cost of this armoire service is an additional £75. There is a slight risk that the process may introduce some defects or damage, but we will carry out this work on a 'best endeavours' basis. The armoire will be strictly non-returnable once it has been dismantled. Before our delivery team carry out this service, you will be asked to examine the armoire to confirm it is in perfect condition, and to sign a waiver that confirms you agree not to hold us responsible for any damage or defects subsequently identified. It is extremely rare that any problems arise when this process is carried out.

Note: our delivery team will only take an armoire up or down a single flight of stairs. If you have specific access requirements please contact us.

If you would like the packaging from your furniture delivery removed and recycled, our Packaging Removal Service costs an additional £15. This service can be combined with a White Glove delivery where your items will be assembled, or added to a standard delivery where your items will be taken to your room of choice with the packaging then taken away. Please note in line with our returns Terms & Conditions, all original packaging must be retained if you might want to make a return

You can return your order to us within 45 days, provided it is in the original condition, with any labels intact, unused and unwashed.

Please keep all packaging as unfortunately we will won't be able to offer a refund if your order is returned without the original packaging (If you have placed an order with Packaging Removal, but would like to keep it, please contact the team on 01444 415430).

The only items excluded are bespoke items and mattresses (for hygiene reasons). This right of cancellation does not apply to trade customers.

For smaller home accessory items delivered by overnight courier, we offer a Royal Mail returns option if your parcel weighs less than 20kg and is within the following dimensions 61cm x 46cm x 46cm. You can create a returns label through our Royal Mail Tracked Returns Portal here. Please note your Order Ref number can be found at the top of the returns docket included within your parcel, this is not your "1000" order number.

For parcels which weigh, or measure over the outlined limits please refer to the Delivery & Returns tab on the product page of your item for more information on how to make a return.

We cannot make arrangements for returns from addresses outside the UK and Ireland, so you will need to make your own arrangements if you are overseas.

If your particular product is not available for returns via Royal Mail, we can only arrange for your return to be collected, between Monday-Friday only. Please check the Delivery and Returns section on each product page to see the exact return courier charge payable for that product.

Alternatively you can use your own choice of courier to return your goods, please do ensure you have adequate insurance.

We do all we can to protect our items in transit, but sadly damages can sometimes occur.

If you've received your delivery by overnight courier then please let us know within 7 days if you spot damage (and before installing electrical items).

If you've received items via our furniture delivery crew and you spot damage then the items will be returned with the drivers and a replacement will be re-delivered to you. You'll be asked to inspect your goods and sign a Proof of Delivery Note. We cannot accept responsibility for any damage reported to us after you've signed the Proof of Delivery note - so please do check your goodies really thoroughly!

All products come with a one year manufacturer's guarantee, which we will honour in the form of parts and labour.

International Deliveries

Our classic designs are loved and enjoyed the world over! Wherever you live, we have sourced the best international shipping agents and partners to deliver your gorgeous goodies to their new home, safe and sound.

We deliver small items with global parcel carriers, but if you have your eye on any of our exquisite furniture, you'll find international deliveries are more cost effective with larger orders. Deliveries across Europe are often charged a flat rate for a minimum of five cubic metres, so you can often add to your order without increasing the delivery fee. Beyond continental Europe, we usually send goods by international air freight at a different rate. If you are arranging your own shipping, we can gather all your goods in our warehouse so they are ready for collection by your shipper.

Our website initially shows prices including sales tax (VAT) at 20%. If you are exporting goods from the EU, you won't need to pay this if we arrange the shipping. If you are collecting goods from us so you can ship them yourself, we can refund the VAT later (see Tax Refunds and Import Duties, below).

International shipping with French Bedroom

To complete an international order with us:

1. Choose your lovely French bedroom furniture, and checkout online. Our website can provide shipping quotes for a lot of worldwide locations, but if you live somewhere that our website can't quote for, please email or phone us with your address and a list of your chosen goods and we will arrange a delivery quote for you. Alternatively, you are welcome to collect from our warehouse in south London.

2. Once you are ready to place your order, please send us funds so that we can confirm it. We will email you a full receipt straight away, indicating any taxes paid.

3. Away we go! Once all your goods are in stock they will start their journey to you. We keep you updated on every leg of their journey.

Because of international health and safety legislation, we can often only deliver to your kerbside. Please have somebody at the delivery address who can help with moving and assembling your items.

Quality Control and Insurance

Before we ship any goods, we carefully inspect them to ensure they are in perfect condition. All of our shipments are fully insured for loss and damage. On delivery, while the driver is with you, please open each package to confirm it is undamaged. In the unlikely event of a problem, please note this on the courier's paperwork.

Arranging your own shipping?

No problem! Please bring photographic ID and a copy of your order confirmation when you collect. Our warehouse team will be happy to open all boxes so you can inspect the goods - this gives you confidence that your items are in perfect condition when they leave us. Please note that we cannot accept any responsibility for problems found after goods have left our warehouse. We strongly recommend you insure your items with your chosen shipping agents if you opt to ship your own goods.

Shipping to the Channel Islands

If you order goods for delivery to Jersey and Guernsey, VAT will be removed in the checkout. Please contact us for deliveries to Herm, Alderney & Sark so that we can arrange a quote. Our delivery partners will only deliver to your front door and will not enter your property, so our White Glove service is not available. When your goods arrive in Jersey, you will be required to pay local GST to the authorities before goods can be released for delivery. Regrettably, we are not authorised to deal with the authorities on your behalf regarding local tax payments or filing errors. Jersey GST will need to be paid within five days to avoid additional storage fees. For furniture orders, if you prefer, you can book a collection from our London warehouse and we can arrange a VAT refund after good have been exported.

Shipping to the USA

When shipping larger orders to North America, the border authorities sometimes request additional documentation before goods can be imported (e.g. copy of passport, company tax details, or Social Security Number plus a copy of your birth certificate). If this is needed, our shipping agent will ask you for this.

Shipping to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, South Africa, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand

Although smaller packages can be delivered to any street address by our international parcel courier, for some countries, furniture delivery is only priced to the ports. For example, if you are buying furniture, we are only able to deliver to the ports of Abu Dhabi and Dubai in UAE, Doha in Qatar, Cape Town in South Africa, Taichung in Taiwan, Auckland in New Zealand, and Riyadh (or Jeddah for a slight premium) in Saudi Arabia. If you are buying furniture, please note the end delivery address when you place your order, and let us know if you need help finding an agent who can handle local customs clearance and local transportation on your behalf. Please sign for goods as 'unchecked', to avoid complicating insurance claims in the event of damage.

Tax Refunds and Import Duties

If we are shipping outside of the UK, you won't be charged sales tax (the UK VAT rate is 20%). You will be separately liable for any import duties and local taxes when the goods arrive in your country. Every country or state sets their own import taxes and you will be advised of this. If you have arranged your own shipping, you will be charged UK VAT up-front, but we will be able to refund it later. To do this, you will need to send us an itemised 'bill of lading' from your shipper that lists each product individually to confirm that they have been exported. VAT refunds are subject to a £20 admin fee. Additionally, if you require a refund to a non-UK bank account, there will be a further £20 charge - this supplementary fee can avoided if a refund is processed via PayPal, or if the refund is made to the debit or credit card used on the original purchase.

If you would like to return your goods that is no problem - just let us know within 45 days of your goods arriving. In line with our standard returns policy, all goods must be in perfect condition, unused and in the original packaging. If you arrange your own shipping, please ensure you insure your delivery to protect from damage in transit.
