The BCI programme helps to improve cotton production practices by promoting sustainable farming menthids such as using water efficiently, reducing the use of harmful pesticides and chemicals and promoting biodiversity in cotton fields.
This not only reduces the environmental impact of cotton production but also increases yield and improves the quality of cotton produced. The BCI programme also works towards improving the livelihoods of cotton farmers and workers by not just training and capacity building but also providing access to global markets and in turn opportunities.
