We all know that growth doesn’t happen overnight, and good things take time, which is of course also true in all areas of business. Success comes with challenges, obstacles and, most notably, pride.
We launched our In Bed With series on YouTube to highlight the stories of female founders, inspire women at the start of their business journey, and provide a platform for our founder, Georgia, to connect with other like-minded brands.
In Bed With: Air & Grace - Episode 1
Our first guest was Claire Burrows. Founder of London based footwear company Air & Grace, Claire set herself the mission of creating gorgeous shoes without compromising on comfort. With years of experience in the footwear industry, Claire already had the knowledge and expertise to begin her own venture, but how exactly did she get to where she is now?
With Air & Grace celebrating their 10th birthday this year, it’s fair to say Claire and her highly skilled team have cemented their space in the market and become a prominent brand within the fashion and footwear scene.
During the conception of the 'In Bed With' series, we knew instantly that we wanted to share the stories of brands we know and love. Our communities are remarkably alike, with many Air & Grace customers drawn to French Bedroom pieces, and many French Bedroom customers equally passionate about Air & Grace items. Having already partnered with Air & Grace for a joint social media activity, we had already established a meaningful bond and knew that our values aligned.
While the focus was on the accomplishments and triumphs of French Bedroom and Air & Grace, Georgia and Claire eloquently shared their inspirations, where their creative direction is routed and the standout moments when they were able to reflect and truly feel that they have made their brands a success. Starting a business is a journey filled with hurdles, thus, Georgia and Claire share the raw truth about the struggles they’ve faced, their tips for staying inspired, and how to never give up, no matter how tough the road gets.
With a mutual adoration for Vivienne Westwood, quality materials & craftsmanship, and a drive for creating pieces that epitomise timeless elegance, we were in awe of how these two female founders truly clicked, as though long-lost friends.
As the series develops and grows, these shared beliefs will be what draws us to each guest. Having a niche, knowing your audience, and excelling in what you do are all qualities we look for in the brands we partner with and share the journeys of.
