The artist Lizzo really was right: “Life looks better in colour”.

Celebrate colour in bold, bright, uplifting tones to bring summer into the corner of every room of your home.

Handloomed from 100% cotton, this flat weave rug has been crafted in an Indian family-run factory. The factory is run by a single family and the workers are paid a fair wage, able to work in a safe environment and no child labour or discrimination exists in any part of the production.

The working methods of production ensure sustainability of materials; any excess from the manufacture is spun on the Charkha (traditional Spinning Wheel) and used again for the next piece.

Each Holi Multicolour Rug is hand crafted with its own character and colour disbursement, resulting in a unique rug that has helped sustain authentic, traditional artisan techniques and skills passed down from previous generations.

The Holi Rug is named after the popular ancient Hindu festival, also known as the 'Festival of Love, Colours and Spring'. People smear each other with colours and drench each other with water guns and water-filled balloons. Anyone and everyone is fair game, friend or stranger, rich or poor, man or woman, children, and elders. Family, friends and foes come together to throw coloured powders on each other, laugh and gossip, then share Holi delicacies. The festival celebrates eternal and divine love and signifies the triumph of good over evil.

Please note that as with any rug, if you are placing it on a hard floor, you will need an anti-slip mat underneath.

The dyes used to obtain the depth of colours without the use of chemicals, can transfer to other items in direct contact (especially when damp). Natural dyes can also fade slowly if placed in direct sunlight.
