This large reversible kantha bedspread is made from 100% cotton and features a hand-blocked botanical design of blue blossoms and winding grey-green vines against a white ground. A deeper indigo geometric border and contrasting blue-and-ivory striped trim frame the print, while rows of traditional hand stitching bring texture and character. The plain reverse offers a more understated look, finished with its simple running-stitch pattern.
Our kanthas begin their life in Sanganer, Jaipur, where the fabric is block-printed by hand, one block at a time, using carved wooden blocks and traditional Indian techniques. From there, they pass through the hands of skilled artisan families, who cut, stitch, quilt, and finish each piece. Every kantha is then carefully checked and prepared in Noida before beginning its journey to French Bedroom.
As each kantha is made by hand, subtle printing irregularities and colour variations may occur.
