Mandala Blanket Box (Not Quite Perfect)

We have one not quite perfect Mandala Blanket Box in our outlet. The blanket box has experienced a couple of small chips to the top of the box, which can be easily touched up using Farrow & Ball James White paint. As with all our not quite perfect items, this item is sold as seen and therefore non-returnable and non-refundable

Carved from mango wood the artisanal Mandala Blanket Box has stunning Indian fretwork carving and elegant hand-carved feet.

We chose mango wood for this blanket box for both its beautifully rich warm tones as well as its kindness to the planet. Once the mango fruit is used, the standard practice is the trees are burnt down to clear space for replanting. However, by using the wood, the farmers gain extra income, and their environment is not polluted or heated by smoke from the fires.

Additional advantages to mango wood are its density and durability. The wide space within this exquisitely carved blanket box has a lip on the back of the lid to keep it in place when open. The solid structure is perfect for sitting on, so can double as a bench and looks perfectly pretty when styled with cushions sat on top.

We love the strong visual contrast between the warm-toned wooden interior and the pure white painted exterior. This is a classically elegant piece of white bedroom furniture, built to last; travelling with you across your homes, your style changes, and to be passed down through the generations.

We are styling it under a window with colourful cushions, for contemplative or meditative moments. This blanket box would also be at home on a landing or at the end of a bed, as a linen box, or elegant laundry basket alternative. It also makes for an aesthetically pleasing toy box (which parents will know these are few and far between!)

The open nature of the fretwork carving allows for optimal air flow, keeping stored linens fresh and well-aired.

Please note that due to the delicate nature of the paintwork, care must be taken when handling this blanket box as hard items will scratch the paintwork; although we think signs of use and love will add to the charm of this piece.
