Ideally silk should avoid too much human handling to ensure the delicate fibres are kept free from oils and chemicals that may cause them to deteriorate.

Silk is strong and will last many years if treated properly. Its main enemy is sunlight as the rays break down the natural fibres, so we advise you keep pieces of French furniture upholstered in silk away from direct sunlight to ensure you years of enjoyment.
