It’s January, Christmas is over, the decks are down – and it’s time to start thinking about refreshing and revamping your bedroom for the new year. So, you’ve purchased your Debutante bed, and its arrived ready to go into your bedroom. With our French beds, self-assembly is required – this usually takes about 30 minutes, but we have put together a step-by-step guide for making a Debutante bed.
Step 1:
Your bed has arrived, and you have carefully carried it up to your bedroom ready for it to be assembled. Firstly, lay the different parts out where you would like to position the bed, you can lean the headboard up against the wall. You can then begin to loosen the bolts with an alum key – once they are loose – continue to do so by hand, this is so the side panels can clip on easily.
Step 2:
Before building the sides, screw on all four legs to the base. This can be done by hand and will make life easier for you when building the rest of the bed – you may need someone to help hold the pieces steady whilst you do so.
Step 3:
Once this is complete and your legs are securely attached, you can now clip down the side rails on the front and the back board. These should easily slot into place via the metal hooks. Once in place, begin to tighten the screws using the alum key – this will then make the side panels nice and secure.
Step 4:
Now the side panels are firmly in place, you can then begin to place the slats onto the frame by lifting up the material flap on the inside of the bed (this will hide any screws!). Ensure these are evenly space to allow for the mattress to sit nicely on top. Once the slats have been laid out evenly, you can begin to screw them into place using nails and a screwdriver.
Step 5:
