The Gustavian collection pays tribute to the kinship that exists between French and Swedish furniture designs. Influenced by his experiences in French culture, King Gustav III paired French influence with inherently Swedish style to create distinguishable furniture which has defined homeware design for centuries.
In true Gustavian fashion, the Gustavian Bedside cabinet displays a Swedish twist on French neoclassicism. Simplistic, gold metal drawer pulls complement the timeless hand-carved fluting to create a bedside cabinet that is an ode to Swedish furniture design. Fluting continues down the sides of the carefully tapered legs to unify the piece in a symmetrical fashion.
Solid ash wood frame with a mild and light distemper has been used to craft this bedside cabinet that sings traditional Gustavian architecture; over time the ash wood will weather to develop a rich patina that only the authenticity of time can evoke. Upon opening the unit, a simple fitted shelf can be found inside which allows you the space to organise your belongings beside your bed. The cabinet doors close with simplicity due to the magnetic closure fitted internally. The slim, fluted drawer is also carefully designed, fitted with wooden stoppers to allow for ease when opening and closing. The top of the bedside features a low vertical border edge, stopping items from falling off.
A distinguishing element of the Gustavian Bedside Cabinet is the hidden top shelf, allowing you to decorate your bedside table with vases of flowers, whilst still having room for your morning or evening tea.

Our Gustavian Light Collection is made from solid ash wood, a magnificently resilient hardwood. Like all natural wood, ash will gently weather over time, developing a unique patina that only the passing of time can create. The degree and pace of colour change will vary from piece to piece, with factors such as the tree’s age, the season it was felled, time since felling, moisture levels, and exposure to UV light all influencing how the wood seasons and matures.
Ash begins its life in tones ranging from pale cream to light beige. Over time and depending on light exposure - the wood will gradually season and deepen in colour, developing into a warmer, more golden hue and in some cases, a soft honeyed tone. This gentle transformation adds character and individuality to each piece, allowing it to age elegantly and develop a rich, nuanced patina, creating furniture that feels truly timeless, and destined to become heirlooms of the future.
No two pieces are ever quite the same - your ash wood furniture may arrive at any stage in its colour journey and will continue to warm and deepen as the years pass.
