Designed in Sussex by French Bedroom's design team, the Gustavian White collection of linear French furniture is made from solid wood, painted in French white; a reimagined style of our very first collection of French furniture sold when we launched back in 2006.
The collection reflects how the rooms in our homes have evolved to accommodate how we live today. The flux and flow of our homes from living to working, resting to entertaining means the items of furniture need to offer dual purpose in terms of use, comfort and storage requirements. With this in mind, the bedside cabinet features an internal fitted shelf encased behind two central doors that close with integrated magnetic closures. Below the doors sits a slim chamfered drawer. A distinguishing element of the Gustavian Bedside Cabinet is the hidden top pull-out shelf that allows space for additional ad hoc items (such as your morning paper or warm drink). The very top of the bedside features a low vertical border edge, stopping items from falling off. Made from solid ash with simplistic gold metal drawer pulls that complement the timeless hand-carved fluting.
A timeless bedside table, hand-crafted to reflect the craftsmanship of traditional Gustavian design whilst embodying a modern sense of quiet luxury.
The Gustavian collection pay tribute to the kinship and visual dialogue between French and Swedish furniture designs. The rich tapestry of French furniture design is still woven into the fabric of each piece, blended with a contemporary linear elements for a fresh take on French furniture style.
