Warm sand underfoot, coral reefs, endless shores, sea shells, sand dollars, silver birch bark, fallen leaves and the snap of twigs underfoot; nature in every form, and in every corner of our precious planet has been the inspiration for our Love Story Collection of French furniture.
Crafted from a solid oak framework, the French style bed is hand-carved and stained with a satin varnish to enhance the medullary rays within the oak. The headboard is upholstered in rich cotton velvet in a versatile taupe colourway, and deep buttoned for a smart and classic aesthetic. Finally, it is trimmed with a piped edge.
We love the way the sweeping and gently scalloped side rails and footboard thoughtfully match the undulation of the velvet headboard and the button upholstery, a considered but simple design that will sit with every style of room and every choice of colour palette.
Like all natural materials, oak has inherent disparities in colour and grain pattern, so each piece of wood used to make this French Bed will have its own unique variation that will include knots, black lines, colour difference, tiger grain, medullary rays, colour variation or shadowing. No two pieces will be an exact match, enhancing the unique characteristics and warmth of this piece.

This velvet French bed can either be put together for you upon delivery (choose White Glove Delivery at checkout), alternatively you can assemble your new upholstered bed, which is straightforward and takes approximately 20 minutes.

Velvet Upholstery – Natural Bruising During Transit
Velvet is a luxurious upholstery fabric known for its soft texture and rich appearance. Due to the nature of this material, you may notice some temporary shading or ‘bruising’ on the velvet when it is first unboxed. This can occur during packaging and transit, where the velvet pile may be lightly pressed in different directions.
Please be assured that this is not a fault, but rather a natural characteristic of velvet upholstery. The nap of the velvet will reflect light differently depending on the direction it lies, which can create variations in shading.
In most cases, this can be quickly and easily resolved by gently brushing the fabric with a velvet or soft upholstery brush, to realign the pile and restore the velvet’s uniform appearance. Light steaming (without direct contact) can also assist if needed.
Over time, with normal use, the velvet will naturally settle and develop its intended finish.
